Yes. Strava's Events feature helps runners find nearby club meet-ups and race opportunities from one place. Events is a sub-tab under Groups that recommends runs, rides, and races based on an athlete's activity and location. Strava launched the feature on July 9, 2026.

What runners can find
The Events tab combines local Club Events with tens of thousands of races worldwide. According to Strava's launch announcement, its race listings come from Runna's global race database, which was added to Strava with this release. That combination supports two different goals.
A runner can look for a nearby group session this week or search farther ahead for a target race. Open Groups and select Events to browse both categories. Recommendations reflect the activities a person records and their location, so the visible options may differ between runners.
How to narrow the results
Race filters cover distance, date, location, sport, elevation, and temperature. These controls help runners distinguish between events that merely fit their schedule and those that also suit their preferred terrain or expected conditions.
Local Club Events have filters for date, location, format, and distance. Strava's guide to organizing and discovering events says runners can use Groups > Events to explore nearby meet-ups and its worldwide race catalog. A practical search might look like this:.
- Choose Club Events for recurring sessions or local meet-ups.
- Set a date and location before comparing formats and distances.
- Choose races when looking for a specific distance or destination.
- Add elevation and temperature filters when course demands or likely conditions affect the decision.
Check whether an event fits
Finding an event is only the first step. Open its details and compare the scheduled date, distance, route or workout, and meet-up information with your needs. For a club session, check whether the described workout and distance are suitable before responding.
Members can RSVP, while organizers can set an attendance limit. Race searches call for a different comparison. Distance and date determine whether an event fits the runner's goal, while elevation and temperature provide useful context about likely demands.
Turning a race into a training goal
A listed race can become the basis for a structured Runna plan. Select the race, review its details, and choose "Train with Runna" to create a race-specific training plan.
Strava says new Runna users receive two free weeks through this option. That offer concerns the training service, not entry into the selected race, so runners should treat choosing a plan and securing a race place as separate decisions.
Why some local events may be missing
Club organizers create events by adding a date, workout or route, and meet-up details. However, an event appears in broader local discovery only when the organizer marks it "discoverable." This means an empty or limited local list does not necessarily show every active club session nearby.
Some events may remain visible only within their clubs, and organizers may cap attendance. Event-waiver tools also have a regional restriction. In its April 2026 product update, Strava said those tools were available to club organizers only in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia.
