I Started Running 5 Miles, 3 – 4 Times a Week – Here’s What Actually Happened.
No coaching. No gadgets. No motivation hacks. Just consistency.
In September, I committed to something simple: Run 5 miles, 3 – 4 times a week. No pace goals. No “perfect” recovery plan. Just show up and run and document everything.
This week, I tested something unexpected. I ran 6 miles. Time: 59 minutes 02 seconds. No injury. No burnout. No drama. Just progress.
The Numbers
- Distance baseline: 5 miles
- Frequency: 3 – 4x per week
- New milestone: 6 miles
- Time: 59 minutes
- Start month: September
- Age group: Real adult, not elite athlete
Most people don’t fail at running because they’re weak.
They fail because they overcomplicate it.
You don’t need speed.
You need repetition.
If you:
- Believe cardio = long-term freedom
- Don’t care about podiums
- Want your heart, lungs, and legs to last decades
You’re already doing it right.
Here is my 6 miles run result.
